"Regime Check, Polarization Improvement"
Establishment of a System Reflecting Party Members' Opinions
The elected members of the 22nd National Assembly from the Democratic Party of Korea on the 23rd resolved that "we must strongly put the brakes on the runaway administration to prevent the future of the country from deteriorating any further."
After a workshop held from the 22nd to the 23rd at Splash Resort in Chungnam, the Democratic Party elected members adopted a resolution titled "Complete Reform! Solve Livelihood Issues! The Democratic Party Will Do It."
They stated, "During the two years of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, we witnessed the daily destruction of the proud values and achievements built by the people," adding, "A massive regression has occurred across all sectors of our society, and due to the irresponsible and unprepared incompetent administration, livelihoods have collapsed and the economy has been devastated."
They further warned, "Despite receiving a heavy judgment from the people in the last general election, the president has paid no heed and has persistently chosen the path of 'runaway.' With no brakes on this runaway, state affairs are unstable and the people's livelihoods are weary. It is clear that the president's reckless governance will result in the suffering of the people."
They pledged to focus their capabilities on passing reform bills and the special investigation law on Cha Sang-byeong, and to take the lead in responding to crises such as polarization, the climate crisis, and population extinction.
They also declared, "We clearly recognize that party members are the core and invaluable assets that cannot be exchanged for anything else, and we will further expand and strengthen systems that democratically reflect the will of the party members."

Complete Reform! Solve Livelihood Issues! The Democratic Party in Action.
Currently, the Republic of Korea is facing a comprehensive crisis.
During the two years of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, we witnessed the daily destruction of the proud values and achievements built by the people. A massive regression has occurred across all sectors of our society, and due to the irresponsible and unprepared incompetent administration, livelihoods have collapsed and the economy has been devastated.
Endless diplomatic disasters and a foreign policy that has lost balance have shrunk our economic territory, damaging national prestige and the pride of the people, while soaring prices and high interest rates have increased the suffering of the people.
What about democracy? Citizens are silenced, the press faces threats of violence and intimidation, and acts of gagging the media, like star-rating terrorism, are rampant. The president’s arbitrary use of veto power and rule by executive orders have nullified the legislative authority of the National Assembly and seriously damaged democracy.
Despite receiving a heavy judgment from the people in the last general election, the president has paid no heed and has persistently chosen the path of ‘runaway.’ With no brakes on this runaway, state affairs are unstable and the people's livelihoods are weary. It is clear that the president's reckless governance will result in the suffering of the people.
The Democratic Party’s role is clear. It is to protect the lives of the people from the runaway of an irresponsible and reckless administration. We must strongly put the brakes on the runaway administration to prevent the future of the country from deteriorating any further. We believe this is our duty to the sovereign people who entrusted us with precious authority.
Therefore, all elected members of the 22nd National Assembly from the Democratic Party of Korea solemnly resolve as follows, bearing the heavy will of the people given in the general election.
First, we will do our utmost to stop the runaway of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration. We will swiftly push forward reform bills, including those vetoed by President Yoon, and focus our efforts on enacting the special investigation law for Marine Corps personnel.
Second, we will take infinite responsibility to solve the difficulties of the people. We will listen carefully to the hardships on the ground, devise solutions, and respond promptly.
Third, we will lead the changes of the times and prepare and take charge of the future of the Republic of Korea. We will take the lead in turning crises such as polarization, the climate crisis, population extinction, and digital transformation into new opportunities.
Fourth, we will strive harder to build a party centered on its members. We clearly recognize that party members are the core and invaluable assets of the Democratic Party, and we will further expand and strengthen systems that democratically reflect the will of the party members.
