According to the city on the 22nd, this project is part of the national Green New Deal policy aimed at improving the performance of aging buildings to respond to climate change and prevent greenhouse gas emissions.
The focus is on improving energy performance, living environment, installing new technology systems, and enhancing aesthetics of aging public buildings such as health centers that have been completed over 10 years ago.
The project aims to create exemplary cases of greenhouse gas reduction through improved energy efficiency and promote awareness of green buildings.
The city invested a total of 5 billion KRW (3.5 billion KRW from the national government and 1.5 billion KRW from the city) and started construction at the Dado-myeon health center, completing remodeling work on 11 health centers from last year through May 20 of this year.
Measures included installing insulation materials on interior and exterior walls, replacing with high-performance windows, and installing high-efficiency heating and cooling systems as well as LED lighting throughout all buildings.
The main health center is scheduled to be completed around November.
Mayor Yoon Byung-tae said, “Although there were unavoidable inconveniences such as operating temporary clinics during the remodeling work, thanks to the active cooperation of the citizens, the project was successfully completed. We will do our best to ensure that residents receive high-quality health care services in the more comfortable health centers.”
