Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) has signed a business agreement with Konkuk University Hospital (Hospital Director Yoo Kwang-ha) to support shingles vaccination for low-income single-person households.
This agreement was promoted for low-income single-person households at high risk of solitary death. According to the agreement made on the 7th, Gwangjin-gu will identify and recommend eligible individuals. Konkuk University Hospital will provide outpatient treatment and vaccinations for the recipients.
Medical and vaccination expenses will be supported up to 500,000 KRW per person. The vaccine type is the ‘inactivated vaccine,’ which has a high preventive effect and can be administered to those with weakened immunity. However, those deemed ineligible for vaccination by a doctor's opinion are excluded.
The target group includes basic livelihood security recipients or those eligible for reduced co-payments residing in Gwangjin-gu. Without any age restrictions, 20 individuals at risk of solitary death will be supported. The project will proceed from this month until the budget is exhausted.
