On the 22nd, at the 22nd National Assembly elected members’ workshop held at Splash Resort in Yesan, Chungnam, Lee said, "In this general election, the people have entrusted a great responsibility to the Democratic Party elected members," adding, "I hope the elected members find their roles well." He also emphasized, "Public office is a strange realm where if you try to work, there is no end, and if you don’t work, it is not easily noticeable," and said, "I hope you carry out your given duties with a deep sense of responsibility, thinking that the lives and livelihoods of countless people depend entirely on our hands."
Park Chan-dae, floor leader of the Democratic Party, announced that the 22nd National Assembly will respond strongly against the Yoon Seok-yeol administration. Park said, "I stand here to end the era of a regime of arrogance and obstinacy, veto politics, and regression, and to create a reformist National Assembly that takes action," adding, "The Yoon administration is recklessly abusing veto power. The Democratic Party must revive the spark of livelihood recovery and take responsibility for the lives of the people." He continued, "We will do our best to establish a more detailed and meticulous National Assembly operation strategy to demonstrate effective politics," and explained, "We will accelerate the passage of reform bills and livelihood bills in the 22nd National Assembly."
The Democratic Party condemned once again the veto exercised by President Yoon Seok-yeol on the Special Prosecutor Act for Corporal Chae. In a statement, Floor Leader Park said, "Despite the crushing defeat in the general election, the reckless president who does not fear the people has declared an all-out war against the people," and added, "We will make every effort to pass the Special Prosecutor Act for Corporal Chae until the end of the 21st National Assembly, and even if we fail, we will immediately re-pursue it upon the opening of the 22nd National Assembly." He also urged the People Power Party members sternly, saying, "Choose the side of the people and history, not the side of power."
