Award Ceremony for Seohyeon-sook and Others Selected as Proud Jungnang-gu Residents for Filial Piety Award
On the 19th, the '2024 Jungnang Seoul Rose Festival' Held Residents' Awards Ceremony
Four Categories Selected: Volunteer Award, Filial Piety Award, Model Family Award, Special Award
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) held the ‘29th Jungnang Citizen Awards Ceremony’ on the 19th during the ‘2024 Jungnang Seoul Rose Festival’ to enhance the pride of Jungnang residents.
The ‘Jungnang Citizen Award’ is the highest honor in Jungnang-gu, awarded to residents or organizations who have contributed to the development of the local community and resident harmony in various fields, targeting residents who have lived in Jungnang-gu for more than three years.
There are four award categories: Volunteer Award, Filial Piety Award, Model Family Award, and Special Award. To ensure fair and objective judgment, winners are selected through document review, on-site inspections, and careful consideration of residents’ opinions for each category.
In the 29th Jungnang Citizen Awards, one winner was selected in each category. The recipients are ▲Volunteer Award: Kim Gwan-wook ▲Filial Piety Award: Seo Hyun-sook ▲Model Family Award: Jo Kyung-im ▲Special Award: Shin Jang-woo. Each winner received the Jungnang Citizen Award plaque.
The Volunteer Award recipient, Kim Gwan-wook from Myeonmok 4-dong, has been engaged in environmental cleanup activities such as Saemaul large-scale cleaning and Jungnangcheon restoration campaigns since 2010. He has also consistently volunteered for neighbors in need through activities like donating masks during COVID-19 and repairing houses for vulnerable groups, demonstrating outstanding neighborly love, which led to his selection for the Volunteer Award.
The Filial Piety Award winner, Seo Hyun-sook from Sinnae 1-dong, has cared devotedly for her elderly parents for over 20 years with exceptional filial piety. Additionally, she treats senior citizens at local senior centers like her own parents, volunteering by organizing birthday parties and providing supplies, becoming a role model for neighbors and earning the Filial Piety Award.
The Model Family Award recipient, Jo Kyung-im from Myeonmok 5-dong, has lived in Jungnang-gu for over ten years across three generations, maintaining a harmonious family. Following her parents’ example, she actively participates in local volunteer activities, serving as a good example of a model family, which earned her the Model Family Award.
Lastly, the Special Award winner, Shin Jang-woo, has contributed to establishing local defense systems and welfare enhancement through various community activities such as the Jungnang-gu Integrated Defense Council and Social Welfare Council. As the CEO of the brand ‘Elegance,’ he has been recognized for his continuous good deeds, including donating items for ‘Warm Winter Campaigns’ and supporting low-income children and youth, leading to his receipt of the Special Award.
