Kim Yong-gwan, CEO of Samsung Medison, Moves to Samsung Electronics Business Support TF
Samsung Electronics Announces Personnel Changes on the 21st
On the 21st, Samsung Electronics made a surprise personnel reshuffle, appointing Kim Yong-gwan, former Vice President and CEO of Samsung Medison, to the company's Business Support TF. Yoo Kyu-tae, Vice President and Head of the Strategic Marketing Team of the Medical Device Business Division, was appointed as the new Head of the Medical Device Business Division and CEO of Samsung Medison.
On the same day, Samsung Electronics appointed Vice Chairman Jeon Young-hyun as the head of the DS Division, responsible for the semiconductor business, while simultaneously making personnel changes related to its subsidiary Samsung Medison.
The Business Support TF, to which Vice President Kim was transferred, is responsible for major decision-making within the group. It is led by Vice Chairman Jung Hyun-ho, a former member of the Future Strategy Office (Mijeonsil).
With Vice President Kim returning to the group, his last task within Samsung Medison was mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Samsung Medison announced earlier this month that it plans to acquire Sonio, a French AI-based medical technology startup.
