'Creating a Dementia-Worry Zero City'... Incheon Yeonsu-gu Launches 12 Specialized Projects
Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, declares itself a 'Dementia Worry Zero' city.
On the afternoon of the 21st, the district will hold a proclamation ceremony for the 'Dementia Worry Zero City' at the 1st Healing Yeonsu Festival, declaring its leap as a leading hub city in dementia overcoming and Incheon's first dementia-safe city.
Starting this year, the district plans to implement 12 specialized dementia management projects, including the installation of a cognitive health ICT experience zone, creation of dementia-safe apartments, introduction of dementia risk prediction tests, regular dementia screenings, dementia safety patrols, and a one-on-one telephone-based Memory Care program.
The Memory Care program is a non-face-to-face cognitive enhancement program that conducts memory recall training and emotional exchange via telephone media within a familiar home environment for those with cognitive decline and mild cognitive impairment who find it difficult to visit the dementia safety center.

At the proclamation ceremony, appreciation plaques will be awarded to private contributors who have dedicated themselves to overcoming dementia, and a video containing future visions and strategies under the theme 'Yeonsu without Dementia Worries, Yeonsu with a Healthy Future' will be shared to present the blueprint of the Dementia Worry Zero city.
Additionally, about 600 local residents along with the Korean Senior Citizens Association, Yeonsu-gu Medical Association, and Yeonsu-gu Pharmaceutical Association will collaborate to perform the 'Dementia Worry ZERO!' performance, demonstrating their determination to overcome dementia both domestically and internationally.
Yeonsu-gu, which installed the nation's first dementia safety center, has played a leading role in dementia management by implementing proactive resident-led policies beyond existing national policy projects.
