Town Hall Meeting with Over 160 Executives and Team Leaders

On the 20th, Lee Hoon-ki, CEO of Lotte Chemical, shared changes in the petrochemical industry environment and emphasized the growth DNA to overcome crises through a town hall meeting held at the headquarters in Lotte World Tower, Songpa-gu, Seoul. Since his appointment as CEO, he has visited domestic and overseas sites to directly inspect and encourage the business and meet employees, but this was the first time he faced all 160 executives and team leaders at once.
For two hours, CEO Lee explained strategic tasks and performance goals by SBU (Strategic Business Unit) including basic chemicals, advanced materials, fine chemicals, battery materials, and hydrogen energy, and shared future directions.
He first said, "We will maintain the business proportion by strengthening core competitiveness through operational efficiency of basic chemicals, and maintain a stable profit-generating structure by fostering a competitive portfolio in advanced materials and fine chemicals."
Regarding new growth businesses in battery materials and hydrogen energy, he explained to employees that they will establish a global leading position centered on cathode and anode foils respectively, and promote business expansion by securing a business foundation utilizing by-product hydrogen and acquiring overseas clean ammonia.
CEO Lee said, "Chemical companies within Lotte Group, including Lotte Chemical, have continuously grown and overcome crises despite difficult conditions. If all employees work together with strong execution and spirit, we will wisely overcome the current situation as well."
