In addition, they operated a separate promotional booth to actively introduce Pohang's major tourist attractions and signature foods, drawing significant interest from Fukuyama citizens.
Kim Eungsoo, Director of the Green City Project Division, stated, "Friendly exchanges through major festivals of overseas sister cities, such as the Fukuyama Rose Festival, will serve as a bridge for active private exchanges. We have learned a lot from this festival, which will help strengthen Pohang's identity as the city of ten million roses and apply excellent cases to our city."
Since establishing a sister city relationship with Fukuyama in 1979, Pohang has actively promoted various exchanges, including dispatching public officials, youth sports exchanges, personnel exchanges between private organizations, and cultural and artistic exchanges through the representative festivals of both cities.
In particular, Fukuyama sends a large congratulatory delegation every year to participate in the Pohang International Fireworks Festival, contributing to the festivities in Pohang.
A city official said, "During this rose festival, we promoted exchanges between the rose societies of both cities to foster friendship. We will also work to ensure that Pohang participates in the World Rose Convention to be held in Fukuyama next year, so that Pohang can grow into a world-class rose city."
