"Receive Baedal Minjok Gift Certificates"... Ministry of Gender Equality and Family Donation Event for Isolated and Reclusive Youth
Event Held Within Baedal Minjok App
One-Stop Support Project Gift Certificates Provided
The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family is conducting a donation event in collaboration with Baedal Minjok to help isolated and reclusive youth recover their daily lives.
According to the ministry on the 20th, starting today, the app's home screen will promote 'Youth Counseling 1388' to enable isolated and reclusive youth and their families to apply for government support services, and a donation event will be held through participation.
Isolated youth refer to those who have no one to ask for help in emergencies or emotionally rely on, while reclusive youth are those who stay only inside their homes and do not engage in social activities. The ministry estimates that there are about 140,000 isolated and reclusive youth aged 13 to 18 in South Korea.
The donation event proceeds by having app users find and enter a four-digit number to unlock a lock on the 'Find the Hidden Numbers in Baedal's Home!' event page, and then learn the meaning of the correct answer.
Baedal Minjok plans to gift food takeout vouchers to participants in the pilot project of the ‘One-Stop Package Support for Isolated and Reclusive Youth,’ a new initiative launched this year to help isolated and reclusive youth gain experience going out.
The One-Stop Package Support project provides tailored support from discovering eligible individuals to counseling, recovery and healing activities, academics, and follow-up management, centered around 12 out-of-school youth support centers nationwide.
