China Shows 'Bright Prospects' During Putin's Visit, Emphasizing Cooperation in AI and Advanced Technologies

In particular, it announced that the two countries will cooperate not only in trade and energy but also in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), advanced technology, and basic academic fields in the future.
On the 17th, Liu Bin, Director of the Eurasian Department of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, gave a written briefing on the outcome of President Putin's visit to China, stating, "This visit was timely, fruitful, and received high attention from the international community."
He added, "President Xi Jinping and President Putin held an honest, friendly, and substantive meeting, presenting top-level design and strategic arrangements for the strategic cooperation and sectoral collaboration between the two countries."
Liu said, "The two countries support each other in handling their own affairs and safeguarding each other's sovereignty, security, and development interests, and oppose external forces' interference in internal affairs." He continued, "Going forward, the two countries will deepen political mutual trust based on the principles of ▲ not forming alliances ▲ not confronting each other ▲ not targeting third parties, and will realize their respective development under mutual respect and support."

Regarding the fact that bilateral trade volume increased 1.7 times over the past decade, exceeding $240 billion (approximately 326 trillion won) last year, he said, "This is especially valuable at a time when the global economy lacks resilience and remnants of unilateralism and protectionism are resurfacing," and asserted, "China-Russia cooperation is open and aboveboard, complies with World Trade Organization (WTO) rules and market principles, and is not aimed at third parties nor subject to external interference or coercion."
