Gyeonggi-do Health and Environment Research Institute Establishes Nation's First Support System for Private Sewage Treatment Facilities
The Gyeonggi-do Institute of Health and Environment has established a comprehensive support and management system for educational programs, technical reviews, and support projects related to individual wastewater treatment facilities.
Individual wastewater treatment facilities are facilities designed to treat wastewater generated from buildings or other establishments, including septic tanks and wastewater treatment facilities.
The Institute explained that the Sewerage Act was amended in December 2022, allowing local governments to implement detailed standards for the installation of individual wastewater treatment facilities tailored to their local circumstances.
On the 23rd, the Institute will conduct training for sewage-related public officials and wastewater experts from related organizations to ensure that local governments can install facilities in compliance with the 'Local Government Individual Wastewater Treatment Facility Installation Standards.'
