Asan-si Discusses Measures to Minimize Damage from Natural Disasters in Summer
Asan City in Chungnam held a departmental response status briefing for the comprehensive summer natural disaster countermeasures and discussed ways to minimize damage from natural disasters.
Presided over by Mayor Park Kyung-gwi, the briefing was attended by 13 practical departments including the Safety General Division, where reports were given on the response measures implemented so far and future plans.
Mayor Park stated, “We must closely analyze rainfall distribution and rainfall forecast information, as well as tidal information during the rainy season, and share this with related organizations,” adding, “Rapid disinfection must be carried out in residential areas and Gokgyocheon sports facilities in case of flooding caused by heavy rain.”
He also instructed a full inspection of retaining wall construction sites within the jurisdiction, urged prompt repair of potholes on roads occurring during heavy rain, and requested the designation of responsible persons for submerged roads at risk of flooding.
Additionally, he ordered inspections of solar power installation sites permitted in forest areas, a full survey of sites at risk of landslides and soil erosion, and preemptive blocking of forest roads and walking trails during the rainy season.
