On the 10th, a citizen who witnessed a 'dizzying moment' at the senior citizens' party held at Chilsan Elementary School in Gimhae City clicked their tongue in amazement.
According to the city on the 13th, the senior citizens' party event was held at the Chilsan Elementary School gymnasium in Chilsanseobu-dong, hosted by the Chilsanseobu-dong Youth Association Autonomous Crime Prevention Unit.
About 600 local residents enjoyed Taekwondo demonstration performances, invited singer performances, and shared prepared food.
Meanwhile, a citizen in their 60s suddenly collapsed backward.

Mayor Hong Taeyong, who was attending the event and saw this, immediately rushed over and performed emergency first aid, including securing the airway.
The citizen was later transferred to a nearby hospital with the help of the medical support team from Hansarang Hospital, who were providing medical support at the event, and was discharged the next day.
A member of the Saemaul Women's Association present at the scene said, "It was really fortunate that the mayor, who is a doctor by training, quickly administered emergency first aid," and sighed with relief.
A city official said, "Fortunately, the mayor was nearby and quickly took action," adding, "Since various events are held during May, the month of family, we will thoroughly prepare for emergencies to ensure the events proceed safely."

Mayor Hong Taeyong of Gimhae is originally from Seosang-dong, Gimhae. After earning his master's and doctorate degrees from Inje University, he worked as a doctor, serving as director of Gimhae Hansol Hospital and as an adjunct professor at Inje University College of Medicine. He was elected in the 8th nationwide simultaneous local elections in 2022.
