Uljin-gun Leads Carbon Neutrality... Bus Equipped with 'Fine Dust Adsorption Filter' in Operation
Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk, has been operating nine buses equipped with fine dust adsorption filters since May as a measure to reduce fine dust along the roadsides.
The fine dust adsorption filter adsorbs harmful pollutants in the air such as sulfur oxides (SOx), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted from vehicle exhaust, thereby reducing fine dust.
Operating one bus equipped with a fine dust adsorption filter is equivalent to planting 58 trees annually, and operating nine buses with these filters is expected to have the same effect as planting 522 trees.

County Governor Son Byeong-bok stated, “Uljin-gun is promoting the installation of fine dust traffic lights, safe spaces for fine dust, and the fine dust adsorption filter attachment project. In the second half of the year, we will additionally equip seven more buses with fine dust adsorption filters to create an environment where residents can live with peace of mind, making Uljin-gun a leader in carbon neutrality.”
