Changwon Special City Selected as 'Regional Digital Innovation Hub'... First Step for Changwon Industrial Innovation Peak
Companies Will Grow and Young People Will Come
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced on the 13th that it has been selected for the Ministry of Science and ICT's 'Regional Digital Innovation Hub Creation Support Project' competition.
This competition project was promoted following the Ministry of Science and ICT's announcement of the 'Plan to Strengthen Local Digital Competitiveness' in November last year, aiming to create regions with high growth potential outside the metropolitan area by 2030, concentrating digital companies and young talent to develop areas comparable to Pangyo Techno Valley.
Changwon Special City Mayor Hong Nampyo is presenting the vision for the next 50 years at the 50th anniversary ceremony of the designation of Changwon National Industrial Complex on April 24.

It will support industry-academia-research collaboration-based R&D that integrates digital new technologies into manufacturing, greatly contributing to the creation of a manufacturing innovation digital ecosystem.
Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, said, "First of all, I sincerely welcome our city's selection as a 'Regional Digital Innovation Hub.' As the Changwon National Industrial Complex celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, we will transform the complex into a future-oriented space where digital and culture coexist, leading Korea's new future."
He added, "With this selection, we have secured the driving force to accelerate the creation of a regional digital innovation ecosystem. We will ensure that this project serves as the catalyst for realizing the 'Changwon Industrial Innovation Park,' the 50-year future goal of the Changwon National Industrial Complex, and its first strategy, the 'world-class manufacturing innovation ecosystem,' by consulting with Gyeongnam Province and related organizations on future projects."
