Movie 'Decision to Leave' Mahler's Adagietto performed on piano
Pianist Griiaznov's First Korea Solo Recital
On the 22nd at Mapo Art Center Art Hall Mac
A stage will be set up where you can listen to the piano performance of the 4th movement "Adagietto" from Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 5, which was featured in the movie "Decision to Leave."
The Mapo Cultural Foundation will hold a solo recital by Russian pianist Vyacheslav Gryaznov at the Mapo Art Center Art Hall Mac on the 22nd.
At this performance, which is Gryaznov's first visit to Korea, he will perform eight piano pieces including "Adagietto," Glinka's "Waltz Fantasy," Ravel's "La Valse," and Tchaikovsky's "Waltz of the Flowers" from The Nutcracker. Seven of the pieces are arrangements made by Gryaznov himself. The remaining piece, Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite, is arranged by Mikhail Pletnev. Since the Nutcracker Suite also includes "Waltz of the Flowers," it is expected to be interesting to compare the piano arrangements of "Waltz of the Flowers," one of the representative pieces of The Nutcracker, arranged separately by Pletnev and Gryaznov.
Gryaznov is one of the young musicians gaining attention in Europe. He studied under Professor Manana Kandelaki at the prestigious Moscow Conservatory and Professor Boris Berman at Yale School of Music. He is currently an artist with the Moscow Philharmonic and an in-house musician at the Drozdoff Society in the United States, actively performing.
In 2014, he became the youngest Russian ever to sign a publishing contract with Schott Music. To date, he has arranged over 40 classical works for piano performance. The classical music arranged by him is receiving great love on major global music streaming platforms and his YouTube channel, and is performed on stage by numerous pianists.
