Starting with a 3-stroke lead, Lee Ye-won made four birdies. After energizing the crowd with 'stepping stone birdies' on holes 3, 5, and 7, she added another stroke on the 11th hole (par 5). On the 16th hole (par 3), she faced a challenge after her tee shot landed near the green and a mishandled approach, but she showed concentration by sinking a 6.31-meter par putt.
