Guro-gu Mayor Mun Heon-il Conducts 'School Route Children's Traffic Safety Campaign' on the Morning of the 10th
Inspection of Traffic Safety Facilities in Child Protection Zones Including Traffic Safety Informers, Smart Poles, and Unmanned Surveillance Cameras
On the morning of the 10th, Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) conducted a 'Children's Traffic Safety Campaign on the Way to School' around Onsu Elementary School and inspected traffic safety facilities in the school zone.
About 40 participants, including Guro-gu Mayor Moon Heon-il, the chief of Guro Police Station, the director of the Safety Management Department of the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, and members of the Green Mothers' Association, took part in the campaign to guide students on traffic safety as they went to school.
The campaign, which involved holding placards with traffic safety messages such as 'Obey Traffic Laws,' 'No Jaywalking,' and 'No Parking or Stopping in School Zones,' was further enriched by the participation of the students.
Following this, Mayor Moon walked to Jeongjin School, personally checking the installation status of safety facilities such as crosswalks, traffic safety alert devices, smart poles, unmanned enforcement cameras, and the replacement of both sides of the Bus Information Terminal (BIT), inspecting the pedestrian environment around the area that children pass through daily.
In particular, Mayor Moon carefully re-verified the improvements made to previously identified issues, including ▲the creation of a pedestrian image walkway on the right side of Onsu Elementary School and ▲the relocation of the crosswalk in front of the entrance to Jeongjin School.
