Naju-si to Operate 'Rural Labor Assistance Focus Period' Until June
Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Yoon Byung-tae) announced on the 10th that it will operate a "Rural Labor Assistance Focus Period" until June.
During May and June, when farming activities are concentrated, the city plans to assist selected farms experiencing aging rural populations and labor shortages with tasks such as fruit thinning and harvesting garlic and onions.
Naju City is promoting assistance for farm labor as the full-scale farming season begins.

About 900 people, including employees from Naju City, the Korea Power Exchange, the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, relocated institutions in the innovation city, provincial government offices, military units, and university students, are expected to participate in the labor assistance.
A city official said, "We appreciate the valuable efforts of public officials, employees of related and public institutions, and military personnel who participate in rural labor assistance every year," adding, "We will actively engage in labor assistance to provide practical support to farms facing labor shortages."
Meanwhile, the city is promoting various policies to alleviate rural labor shortages, including supporting the operation of three Rural Workforce Brokerage Centers (Nonghyup Central Association Naju Branch, Baewonye Agricultural Cooperative, Naju City Agriculture and Fisheries Chamber of Commerce) and introducing foreign seasonal workers.
