Kim San, Muan County Governor, Joins SNS Relay Campaign to Attract Mokpo National University College of Medicine

Active Efforts to Secure Mokpo National University College of Medicine, a 34-Year Local Aspiration

Kim San, the governor of Muan County, participated in the SNS relay campaign on the 8th to attract the Mokpo National University College of Medicine, a 34-year-long wish of the western region of Jeollanam-do.

The SNS relay campaign to attract the National Mokpo University College of Medicine started on the 25th of last month by Park Hong-ryul, the mayor of Mokpo, and Governor Kim San was nominated as the next participant following Go Chang-hoe, chairman of the Daebul Industrial Complex Employers' Association.

Governor Kim San held a sign that read "The Wish of 100,000 Residents: Attract the National Mokpo University College of Medicine" and said through social networking services (SNS), "The western region of Jeollanam-do has the highest proportion of elderly population in the country and is severely threatened in terms of residents' right to life and health due to poor medical environment," adding, "For the western region, which has no alternative other than establishing the Mokpo University College of Medicine, the college must be established at National Mokpo University to improve the poor medical conditions and save lives that are tragically lost."

Governor Kim San nominated Kim Kyung-hyun, chairman of the Muan County Council, and Kim Seon-chi, superintendent of the Muan Office of Education, as the next participants in the relay campaign.

Meanwhile, Muan County formed the Mokpo National University College of Medicine Attraction Promotion Committee on the 26th of last month and is making various efforts to attract the medical school, including hanging banners and conducting a signature campaign among residents.
