Korean Car Journalists Association's May Car of the Month: Porsche New Panamera
BMW X2 Surpasses Mercedes-Maybach GLS and Others
The Korea Automobile Journalists Association has selected Porsche's new Panamera as the Car of the Month.
On the 8th, the Korea Automobile Journalists Association announced that it had chosen the Car of the Month for May this year.
The association's Car of the Year selection committee reviews new cars and facelift models released from the 1st to the end of the previous month and announces the Car of the Month. The selected vehicle can advance directly to the first round of the final judging without going through the first and second half evaluations of the Car of the Year.
The candidates for May's Car of the Month were ▲BMW New X2 ▲The New Mercedes-Maybach GLS ▲Tesla upgraded Model 3 ▲Porsche 3rd generation new Panamera. Among these, the new Panamera was finally selected by scoring 33.7 out of 50 points across five evaluation categories: ▲interior/exterior design and emotional quality ▲safety and convenience features ▲power performance ▲energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions ▲marketability and purchase intention.
The new Panamera received 8 points (out of 10) in the power performance category. It scored 7.3 points in safety and convenience features, and 7 points in interior/exterior design and emotional quality.

Jung Chi-yeon, chairman of the Car of the Year selection committee, explained, "The new Panamera, completely redesigned in its 3rd generation, is equipped with a more powerful E-hybrid powertrain and a high-performance suspension system," adding, "It also enhances marketability by combining a wider range of digital functions, impressive design, dynamic performance, and driving comfort."
