The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced on the 7th that they held the '2024 Mid-sized Enterprise Executive Step-up Seminar' at KOTRA headquarters in Yeomgok-dong, Seoul.

View original imageThis seminar was organized to review global trade issues that domestic mid-sized enterprises need to know, such as accelerating new business transformation, strengthening supply chain management requirements, and the establishment of new environmental and human rights protection regulations, targeting 150 executives from about 100 mid-sized companies. It aimed to assist in establishing strategies to expand overseas market entry.
Big data expert Dr. Song Gil-young was the first speaker, presenting on the theme of "The Future and Sustainable Growth of Mid-sized Enterprises." Dr. Song emphasized, "Mid-sized enterprises must capture rapidly changing global market trends and focus on market diversification and new business transformation." Following this, Han Ah-reum, senior researcher at the Korea International Trade Association, proposed solutions regarding the forced labor risks faced by exporters to the United States and the European Union (EU) and corporate response measures.
KOTRA introduced export success cases of exporting companies Interojo and Novarex and also presented support projects for mid-sized enterprises' overseas expansion. Additionally, numerous related organizations participated to provide in-depth consultations on overseas certification-related technical advice (Overseas Certification Support Group), overseas shipping cost discount benefits (FEDEX), export finance product guidance (Woori Bank), trade insurance utilization methods (Korea Trade Insurance Corporation), and intellectual property-related legal services (Korea Intellectual Property Protection Agency).
