Muan Police Promote Customized Traffic Safety Measures for Cargo Trucks
Intensive Crackdown and Promotion on Labor Transport in Cargo Truck Beds During Farming Season
The Muan Police Station in Jeonnam is promoting measures to strengthen cargo truck traffic safety through customized traffic safety activities, as cargo truck traffic fatal accidents are increasing and social issues such as poor maintenance are arising.
According to Muan Police on the 7th, on the 2nd, they conducted traffic safety education for 80 cargo truck drivers in collaboration with the Samsung Electronics Logistics Center.

This education included watching cargo truck traffic safety videos to prevent cargo truck traffic accidents, teaching about temporary stops when making right turns, correct passage methods at roundabouts, and urging to refrain from reckless driving that causes dangerous driving.
Additionally, since there is a constant risk of major traffic accidents due to manpower transport in cargo truck beds and overloading during the busy farming season, traffic police activities will be strengthened to conduct intensive crackdowns on major violations (not wearing seat belts, speeding, exceeding capacity) focusing on accident-prone areas and locations with heavy cargo truck traffic.
Kang Yong-jun, Chief of Muan Police Station, said, “Considering the characteristics of cargo trucks where blind spots can occur during lane changes and right turns, we will raise awareness regarding collisions with pedestrians and two-wheeled vehicles,” and added, “We will strengthen publicity for intensive crackdowns on manpower transport in cargo truck beds during the busy farming season, as cargo truck accidents can lead to major accidents, and we will strive to prevent traffic accidents.”
