KT Jeonnam-Jeonbuk Regional Headquarters announced on the 7th that it successfully held an AI coding experience camp for future generations at the Goheung Aerospace Festival, which took place from the 4th to the 6th at the Naro Space Center Space Science Museum area in Goheung-gun, Jeonnam, in celebration of Family Month.

At this event, KT operated an interactive booth where participants could design future cities by combining various technologies such as AI, autonomous driving, and UAM (Urban Air Mobility) through coding, attracting strong interest from local youth throughout the festival.

The experience was based on an emergency patient transport scenario using KT’s AI coding autonomous driving robot kit ‘Altino’ and KT AI UAM KIT. Participants enhanced their understanding of technology by coding and operating drones, autonomous vehicles, and integrated airports through processes such as programming travel routes and autonomous vehicle docking.

Additionally, in celebration of Family Month, participants had the opportunity to create memories by learning and practicing coding together with their families.

A student who participated in the camp shared, “I heard that drone taxis will soon be in operation, and I’m excited to experience and design the system that controls ground and air traffic before it becomes commercialized.”

Kim Hye-young, Director of the Women and Family Division of Goheung-gun, said, “Goheung, a special zone for aerospace launch vehicles, hosts the Korea UAM demonstration complex, which has generated high interest among families participating in the camp. It was a meaningful time to find common interests across generations through the process of completing coding, and we are grateful to KT for operating the coding experience camp.”

KT is collaborating with Goheung-gun to support the training of coding education instructors by providing educational instructors and practical equipment necessary for nurturing future industry talents in rural areas. For this camp, about 400 youths from local children’s centers in Goheung were invited to provide opportunities to experience future technologies, continuously practicing ESG management to bridge the digital divide.

Jijeong-yong, Executive Director of KT Jeonnam-Jeonbuk Regional Headquarters, stated, “KT plans to continue contributing to society and leading efforts to improve accessibility to future technology education through various programs and experiential activities.”
