Dongkuk Steel acquires US Environmental Product Declarations for H-beams and heavy plates
Dongkuk Steel announced on the 3rd that it has obtained Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) from the US global safety and environmental organization 'UL' for three products: H-beams, heat-treated plates, and non-heat-treated plates.
Environmental Product Declarations are certifications granted to products that quantitatively display the environmental impact throughout the entire process, from raw material extraction to production, distribution, use, and disposal.
Following the acquisition of the European international certification International EPD in January, Dongkuk Steel has now added the UL EPD, completing the acquisition of international standard environmental product certifications for its main products and enhancing its export competitiveness.
Dongkuk Steel is pursuing overseas market expansion through increased exports. In particular, the Americas region accounts for half of Dongkuk Steel's annual export sales of plates and beams. Dongkuk Steel expects that this certification acquisition will serve as a foundation for expanding exports in the Americas.
