Naju City Launches 'Traffic Safety Campaign'... 230 Safety Umbrellas Distributed
Naju City in Jeollanam-do has taken steps to create a safe commuting environment for elementary school students in the area.
On the 3rd, the city held a traffic safety campaign at Bitnuri Elementary School and announced that it distributed 230 children's "Safety Umbrellas."
About 60 people attended the campaign, including representatives from Naju City, Naju Police Station, Naju Office of Education, Naju Junior Chamber, and the Naju Green Mothers' Association. The event was organized to ensure a safe route to school for children.
The "Safety Umbrellas" produced by Naju City are equipped with transparent reflective strips to prevent traffic accidents on rainy days. They plan to distribute them to about 1,000 first-grade elementary students by the 8th.
A city official said, "We hope the children's safety umbrellas will help our kids commute to school with peace of mind," adding, "We will continue to actively improve traffic facilities and conduct traffic safety education and campaigns to achieve 'Zero Traffic Accidents' in school zones."
Meanwhile, the city distributed 2,000 safety umbrellas last year.
