View original imageKorea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) announced on the 2nd that it attended the 'Small Modular Reactor & Advanced Reactor (SMR & Advanced Reactor) 2024' conference held over two days starting from the 1st in Atlanta, USA, where it introduced the strengths of the Korean SMR and discussed cooperation plans.
At this event hosted by Reuters, KHNP participated in keynote speeches, workshops, and supply chain-related sessions, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation for the commercialization of SMRs.
In his keynote speech, KHNP President Hwang Ju-ho introduced KHNP's vision to realize the 'Smart Net Zero City' (SSNC), a future-oriented energy self-sufficient city based on SMRs as a carbon-neutral solution to overcome the climate crisis, and expressed the company's commitment to SMR commercialization.
During the workshop, KHNP presented the innovative SMR (i-SMR) under development in Korea and the strengths of the Korean nuclear power supply chain, discussing cooperation measures to accelerate SMR commercialization.

KHNP plans to attend this year's United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of the Parties (UNFCCC COP) to promote the i-SMR and SSNC, focusing marketing efforts on SSNC as a new export model for K-Nuclear Power.
