Activate Coastal Tourism through the 'Walking Travel Week'
Developing 'Korea Dullegil' as a Regional Signature Tourism Content
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization will operate the 'First Half Walking Travel Week' from the 3rd to the 19th. They aim to develop the 'Korea Dulle-gil (approximately 4,500 km)', created along the edges of the Korean Peninsula, as a representative regional tourism content. This includes the East Coast Haeparang Trail (Goseong to Busan), the South Coast Nampalang Trail (Busan to Haenam), and the West Coast Seohaerang Trail (Haenam to Ganghwa).
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, together with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, is promoting 'Fishing Village Experience and Healing Villages' to raise awareness of fishing village tourism and revitalize the local economy. On the 3rd, a joint proclamation ceremony for Walking Travel Week and a launch ceremony for the Walking Expedition Team will be held at the outdoor plaza of the Mokpo Living Ceramics Museum in Jeollanam-do.
Various public-private collaborative events will also be held. The Korea Fisheries and Coastal Fisheries Development Institute will introduce fishing village experience and healing villages near the Korea Dulle-gil through the online event 'Online Walking Travel!, Kodu × Fishing Villages.' The National Health Insurance Service will concretize a pilot project for preventive support funds to encourage healthy lifestyle practices targeting citizens aged 20 to 65. Campaigns such as 'Walking Travel for Health! Korea Dulle-gil × Samsung Health App' with Samsung Electronics and a special exhibition 'Walking Around Korea, Korea Dulle-gil' with Kakao Makers will also be promoted.
