Smart City Development Project 'Media Facade' Demonstration Event
Pohang City held the ‘Cultural Arts Factory Media Facade Demonstration’ at the Buk-gu Office Urban Forest on the 30th of last month.
‘Media facade’ is a technique that projects and displays various content videos on the exterior walls of buildings.
This project was planned as part of the Smart City creation project within the Jungang-dong urban regeneration initiative to provide citizens with a cultural and artistic healing space, with a total project cost of 1.6 billion KRW, including 960 million KRW in national funding.
The demonstration started with a lighting performance and used motifs of roses and fireworks symbolizing Pohang to introduce major landmarks. It also showcased award-winning works from a content production competition held in collaboration between Pohang City and Handong University, as well as content expressing the four seasons, all projected onto the exterior wall of the Buk-gu Office, offering citizens a variety of visual attractions.
