Along with this, 30,000 rice noodle units were loaded and shipped to Sri Lanka during the event.
This export contract is valued at approximately 4.8 billion KRW (4.8 million 800g containers) and will supply rice noodles to Sri Lanka over about three years.
Pohang rice noodles are scheduled to be sold in local Sri Lankan hospitals, nursing homes, hotels, and markets. Through this company, exports are planned to increase to about 800,000 units in 2024, 1.6 million units in 2025, and 2.4 million units in 2026.
Pohang City, together with Pohang Wellbeing Food, is actively conducting overseas promotion, sales, and export consultations, which has resulted in the successful attraction of large-scale foreign investment and exports of rice noodles.
The city plans to focus administrative efforts on attracting foreign investment and export contracts, aiming for annual rice noodle exports worth 10 billion KRW starting with this export.
The ‘Migamyeon Rice Noodles’ produced by Pohang Wellbeing Food come in four flavors: anchovy, seafood, beef bone broth, and kimchi. They are characterized by a light taste as they are not fried in oil.
Additionally, these healthy products contain no saturated fats or trans fats and have gained steady popularity worldwide, including in the United States, Canada, Eastern Europe, and now through exports to Sri Lanka.
