Jindo-gun Agricultural and Marine Products Export Development Team Opens New Market in the U.S. East Coast
Promotion Event for Jindo Agricultural and Marine Products Alongside $1 Million Export Agreement
Jindo County in Jeollanam-do recently visited Philadelphia, USA, and signed a $1 million export agreement with the local large supermarket ‘ASSI PLAZA’.
According to the county on the 30th, ASSI PLAZA, established in 2006, is a large distribution and sales company that exports 300 containers monthly to the USA, Canada, and Europe.
The Jindo County Agricultural and Marine Products Export Development Team visited the online sales company ‘Weee’ on the 25th to understand online sales strategies and market trends.
A $1 million export agreement was signed with ASSI PLAZA, a large supermarket in Philadelphia, USA.

‘Weee’ is the number one Asian food seller in e-commerce and is the first local government-developed online sales company in the USA, pioneered by Jindo County last year.
On the 27th, they participated in the Mega Mart Jindo County promotional event held in Atlanta, discussing the supply and sales of seasonal marine products such as Jindo abalone, octopus, and snow crab.
This export agreement involves 26 tons of Jindo’s clean agricultural and marine products, including Jindo rice and dried seafood, marking the second export to the USA and the second export to two regions since pioneering the US West Coast market last year, receiving high praise.
