"Emergency First Aid and Health Management Services for Vulnerable Groups"
Dongmyung University (President Jeon Ho-hwan) Department of Emergency Medical Services (Head of Department Kim Seong-ju) has signed an industry-academic cooperation agreement with the Ma-eum Donghaeng Jega Welfare Center (Director Shin Dong-seok).
The agreement was promoted to enhance first aid and health care services for vulnerable groups in the local community by utilizing the resources and expertise of both institutions.
Director Shin Dong-seok said, “We are now able to provide more professional and systematic first aid services to the users of our center,” adding, “We expect that the specialized knowledge and skills of Dongmyung University’s Department of Emergency Medical Services will help improve the quality of the center’s services.”
Head of Department Kim Seong-ju stated, “This industry-academic cooperation will provide students with practical experience to respond to real emergency situations and contribute to the local community,” and added, “We hope students will have opportunities to learn not only theory but also through direct field experience.”
According to the agreement, the two institutions promised to jointly hold regular educational seminars and workshops to share the latest first aid techniques and information, and to work together to improve the accessibility and quality of emergency medical services in the local community.

Established this year, Dongmyung University’s Department of Emergency Medical Services is the first four-year emergency medical services-related department in the Busan area. It operates customized specialized programs to train Level 1 emergency medical technicians with various competencies, including water safety and first aid education linked to the local community.
