Gwangyang-si Supports Home Slow Chargers for Electric Vehicles
Individual or Corporation Support Up to 500,000 KRW per Unit Until Budget is Exhausted
Maximum 500,000 KRW Support per Unit
Gwangyang City, Jeollanam-do announced the second public notice for the ‘2024 Gwangyang City Non-Public Electric Vehicle Slow Charger Distribution Project,’ which is being promoted to activate the supply of electric vehicles and improve convenience for electric vehicle users, and will accept applications for support recipients from the 29th of this month until the budget is exhausted.
Non-public (private) chargers are charging facilities intended for exclusive use by individuals at homes or workplaces. The city supports 50% of the purchase and installation costs, up to a maximum of 500,000 KRW, for wall-mounted and stand-type non-public slow chargers.
The application period is from the 29th of this month until the budget is exhausted, and the support scale is a total of 129 units. Individuals or corporations wishing to purchase slow chargers can apply in person at the Environmental Division of Gwangyang City Hall.
Eligibility for application includes individuals who have purchased electric vehicles (including those eligible for subsidies in 2024), have an address in Gwangyang City as of the announcement date, have secured the installation site (within Gwangyang City), and have no prior record of charger installation.
Kim Yong-gil, head of the Environmental Division, said, “We will strive to eliminate blind spots in electric vehicle charging through continuous distribution of charging facilities and enhance convenience for electric vehicle users.”
Meanwhile, Gwangyang City has supported 291 non-public slow chargers and invested 350 million KRW by 2024.
