Researcher from Jeongi-yeon Awarded for Contributions to Science Promotion
The Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute (KERI) announced on the 29th that Dr. Ha Yoon-cheol, Dr. Jeon Yeon-do, and Dr. Kim Dae-ho were selected as contributors to the promotion of science and technology in the 2024 Science and Information and Communication Day government awards, receiving the ‘Order of Science and Technology Merit,’ the ‘Prime Minister’s Commendation,’ and the ‘Minister of Science and ICT Award,’ respectively.

View original imageDr. Ha Yoon-cheol, director and principal researcher at KERI’s Next-Generation Battery Research Center, was recognized for his contribution to the development of a low-cost mass production technology for solid electrolyte materials used in next-generation all-solid-state secondary batteries, achieving domestic and international patent applications and technology royalties amounting to 1.76 billion KRW, thereby contributing to the advancement of science, technology, and industry.
Dr. Jeon Yeon-do, principal researcher at the Electric Motor Research Center, who received the Prime Minister’s Commendation, was acknowledged for developing core fundamental technology to enhance the efficiency of industrial electric motors under 15 kW to a super-premium level (IE4).

Dr. Kim Dae-ho, principal researcher at the Nano Convergence Research Center, received the Minister of Science and ICT Award for leading innovation in industrial manufacturing processes through microwave heating technology. This proprietary technology utilizes the magnetic field of microwaves, commonly used in microwave ovens, to instantaneously and uniformly heat conductive materials such as metals to high temperatures.
