Kia EV9 Wins Top Prize at the World's Top 3 Design Awards, the Red Dot Award
The Kia EV9 won the Grand Prize at the 'Red Dot Award,' one of the world's top three design awards.
Hyundai Motor Company, Kia, and Genesis announced on the 29th that a total of four products, including one Grand Prize, were listed as winners at the 2024 Red Dot Award.
The Red Dot Award, hosted by the Design Center of North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany, is one of the world's top three design awards. Every year, it selects outstanding designs in product design, brand and communication design, and design concept categories.
Kia's EV9 received the Grand Prize in the 'Transportation Design (Cars and Motorcycles)' category of product design. Following the Gold Award at the German iF Design Award in March, the EV9 has now earned two of the world's top three design awards.
Since its launch last year, the EV9 has swept the global stage with excellent product quality and design, winning titles such as World Car of the Year and North American Car of the Year. The EV9 is regarded as a model embodying Kia's design philosophy, 'Opposites United,' which creatively fuses contrasting concepts, featuring a futuristic and luxurious design.
Hyundai Motor Company won the main prize with the 5th generation Santa Fe introduced in 2023. The Santa Fe, with its strong yet delicate exterior, is characterized by a design optimized for both urban and outdoor lifestyles, along with a spacious interior.
Genesis's GV80 Coupe also received the main prize for its innovative product design. As Genesis's first coupe, the GV80 Coupe maintains the luxury and convenience of an SUV while adding a distinctive coupe-exclusive design, emphasizing a dynamic yet bold silhouette.
Hyundai's Multi Lantern won the main prize in the outdoor and camping equipment category. The Multi Lantern is designed with the Korean traditional horongbul (traditional lantern) as its motif, delivering a sense of stability and warm emotion to users.
