Gyeonggi-do Inspects 129 Public Facility Sites... Aims to Resolve 96 Unsold Locations
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 28th that, after inspecting the unsold status of public facility sites (public and private) in 30 housing and public housing districts that have been completed for more than two years, 96 public facility sites (620,000㎡) within the 30 districts, including Paju Unjeong, remain unsold.
Gyeonggi Province conducts inspections of unsold sites once every six months, in the first and second half of each year.
This time, from February 27 to March 29, the province inspected a total of 129 sites, including 102 sites in 19 housing development districts and 27 sites in 11 public housing districts, focusing on ▲the utilization status and utilization plans of unsold public facility sites ▲the purchase intentions of designated purchasing institutions for the respective sites ▲purchase plans and reasons for purchase delays ▲and the status of use changes for sites where purchase has been abandoned.
As a result of the inspection, 14 sites, including Goyang Samsong School, have been sold, and 19 sites, including Hwaseong Hyangnam 2 School, are currently coordinating specific schedules with designated purchasing institutions such as the Office of Education and fire stations. Among the 96 sites without sales plans, 48 sites have purchasing intentions from designated purchasing institutions but are in a 'hold' status due to reasons such as lack of budget and insufficient administrative demand. The remaining 48 sites are those for which designated purchasing institutions have abandoned purchase, and use changes are being considered through district unit plan revisions.
Gyeonggi Province has requested cooperation from project implementers such as the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) and related agencies to devise temporary utilization plans and create land demand through use changes for public facility sites that are under long-term purchase hold or purchase abandonment in the jurisdictional local governments.
Additionally, a working-level consultative body will be formed to resolve residents' inconveniences caused by long-term unsold sites in northern Gyeonggi housing development districts and to improve urban functions. Meetings with related agencies will be held to discuss various solutions such as sales activation plans and system improvements.
