Bucheon-si 'Ddokbeoseu' Pilot Operation Starts from the 23rd
Gyeonggi-do's new concept transportation service, 'Ddokbus,' which allows passengers to board at their desired time and place and travel to their desired destination, began operating on the 23rd in the areas of Gogangbon-dong and Gogang 1-dong, Okgil-dong, and Beombak-dong in Bucheon City.
On the same day, Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation held a 'Ddokbus' test ride event in the Gogangbon-dong area of Bucheon City, attended by about 50 people including Jo Yong-ik, Mayor of Bucheon, Min Kyung-sun, President of Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation, Seo Young-seok, National Assembly member (Bucheon City Jeong), and citizens.
From that day, a total of five Ddokbus vehicles operate in the areas of Gogangbon-dong, Gogang 1-dong, Okgil-dong, and Beombak-dong in Bucheon City.
The operating vehicles include three 13-passenger Solati vans (serving Gogangbon-dong and Gogang 1-dong) and two 23-passenger New County buses (including standing room) (serving Okgil-dong and Beombak-dong). Operating hours are from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. The fare is 1,450 KRW, the same as the regular city bus fare, and integrated metropolitan area transfer discounts apply when using a transportation card. After a one-week pilot operation starting on the 23rd, official operation begins on the 30th.
Min Kyung-sun, President of Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation, stated, "We expect the mobility and accessibility of Bucheon citizens to greatly improve by connecting not only subway stations such as Wonjong Station and Yeokgok Station but also each district office." He added, "We will strive to expand Ddokbus further to provide more convenient and safer smart transportation services to the residents."
