The ‘Gijang Senior Citizens Festival,’ sponsored by Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power’s Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters (Head Lee Kwang-hoon), was held on the 25th at the main stadium of Gijang Gymnasium.
Marking its 25th year, the ‘Gijang Senior Citizens Festival’ was organized by the Gijang-gun Saemaeul Association (President Park Yong-ju) to express gratitude for the dedication of senior citizens who have contributed to families and the community within Gijang-gun. Approximately 6,000 local seniors attended.
During the first part of the event, awards were presented to meritorious individuals to promote filial piety and respect for the elderly. The second part featured performances by various invited singers. Additionally, side events such as health check-ups for seniors, job counseling, beauty services, and traditional tea tasting were offered free of charge.
The Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters supported the festival by providing transportation for local seniors and souvenirs, and 10 employees volunteered to assist with traffic guidance to ensure a safe and smooth event.
