Woman Faints After Drinking Coffee Infested with Bugs from Vending Machine at Spanish Airport
Anaphylactic Shock After Drinking Coffee Containing Insects
A woman in her 20s who was drinking coffee from a vending machine at an airport in the Mallorca region of Spain nearly lost her life due to insects found in the coffee. On the 24th (local time), Spanish media outlet Ultima Hora reported that a woman identified as A (21), who works for an airline, was transported to the hospital after experiencing anaphylactic shock while drinking coffee from a vending machine at Palma de Mallorca Airport.
At the time, A, feeling thirsty, drew coffee from the vending machine and drank it, but immediately noticed that the taste was strange. Upon closer inspection of the cup, she saw swarms of insects crawling inside. She then suddenly experienced facial swelling and throat constriction, entering anaphylactic shock. This is a condition where the body has an allergic reaction to a specific substance, causing systemic symptoms such as sneezing, difficulty breathing, and paralysis, which can potentially lead to death.
