Kakao announced on the 25th that the number of users of Kakao Certificate has exceeded 40 million in just three years since its launch.


Kakao has expanded the usage of Kakao Certificate not only to public institution services used by the entire nation but also to lifestyle-oriented services such as finance, insurance, membership, and travel to enhance user convenience.

Currently, Kakao Certificate can be used in over 1,100 public institutions and lifestyle-oriented services, including the National Tax Service, Government24, and the National Health Insurance Service. Usage has also rapidly increased, with a total of more than 1.13 billion uses recorded as of March.


In particular, electronic certificates that can be applied for various certificates issued by administrative or public institutions surpassed 10 million cumulative issuances just two years after the service opened on the 2nd. Electronic certificates allow users to easily and quickly issue and submit a total of 76 different documents in electronic form, including school records, resident registration copies, transcripts, and driving history certificates.


Kakao plans to expand the Kakao Certificate service as an electronic signature method for stock trading in collaboration with securities companies. It is paying close attention to the continuous increase in Kakao Certificate usage in cryptocurrency exchanges and financial MyData services recently. In addition, Kakao intends to contribute to improving practicality and convenience for users by diversifying the usage of Kakao Certificate.
