Over 80 executives and staff members of the Mokpo Hadang Senior Welfare Center issued a statement on the 22nd demanding the establishment of a medical school at the National Mokpo University in the western region of Jeonnam, the largest medically underserved area in the country.
Dojeong, the director of Mokpo Hadang Senior Welfare Center, said, “The proportion of the population aged 65 and over in the western region of Jeonnam is as high as 27.5%, indicating a severe aging problem, and medical demand is steadily increasing.”
