'Precious People' Jung-gu, Seoul... Welcoming Party for 282 Households Moving In
10% Increase in Pildong Population Following Move-in at 'Hillstate Namsan'
Seoul Jung-gu (District Mayor Kim Gil-seong) Pildong Community Center will hold a "Welcome to Pildong, Welcome Hills" event for residents of Hills State Namsan on Saturday, the 27th.
Hills State Namsan, completed in January this year, is an urban-style residential complex with a total of 282 households. It was built on the site of Jeil Hospital, formerly known for its obstetrics and gynecology hospital, located in front of the back gate of Dongguk University.
It is rare for the district office and the community center to organize a welcome event for new residents, but there is a good reason. As of the end of March this year, Jung-gu's population is 121,602, the smallest among Seoul's 25 autonomous districts. Among them, Pildong's population is 4,203, and the district expects that once the move-in to Hills State Namsan is completed, Pildong's population will increase by about 10%.
With the influx of a younger generation into Jung-gu, which has been struggling with super-aging and population decline, the district has prepared the event with a warm welcome. Last February, Jung-gu also held a welcome event for 1,600 new residents of an apartment complex newly built in the Sewoon District, receiving great responses from residents.
The residents' welcome event will begin with a pre-event busking at 10:40 AM and will be held for 80 minutes from 11:00 AM at the apartment's book cafe and outdoor space. Various events such as an outdoor concert, Jung-gu promotional booth operation, a talk with the district mayor, a lecture on development plans around Namsan, and a raffle will be held.
For the new neighbors, support and souvenirs will be provided by Pilgyeonghoe (Pildong Economic Association), Pildong Saemaeul Geumgo, Gallery Aram, CJ Talent Institute, Cafe Mont, Pildong Tongjang Council, Hyundai Construction, and Labidus.
