Changwon City in Gyeongnam Province signed a business agreement for economic cooperation with Quang Tri Province, Vietnam (People's Committee Chairman Bo Van Hung) on the 22nd at the City Hall 3rd Conference Room.

Quang Tri Province is the site of the Hai Lang LNG power project, which is being promoted by a consortium consisting of Hanwha Energy, Korea Gas Corporation, and Korea Southern Power. The delegation also visited related local companies and institutions such as Hanwha Aerospace Changwon Plant 1 and the Changwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry to establish an international cooperation network.
Bo Van Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri Province, expressed gratitude for Mayor Hong’s hospitality and said, “Quang Tri Province has a sentiment that resonates with Korea as it was once a demilitarized zone (DMZ) that experienced the pain of division. The DMZ tourism and peace festival are also famous.” He added, “We hope to expand future exchange and cooperation with Changwon City in areas such as tourism, culture, energy industry, and human exchange.”

Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon City, said, “Through this business agreement, we will share information to promote mutual investment and trade between Changwon and Quang Tri Province, and we expect active exchanges between companies in the future.” He added, “We hope that exchanges will continue to expand in various fields such as tourism, culture, and education, as well as economic exchange.”
