The 48th Busan Dongnae National Traditional Arts Competition Held
June 15-16, Traditional Dance and Traditional Instrumental Music Events Held at Busan Folk Arts Center

Busan City will hold the “48th Busan Dongnae National Traditional Arts Competition” at the Busan Folk Arts Center from June 15 to 16.
The event is hosted by the city and the Busan Folk Arts Preservation Association, with the Busan Folk Arts Preservation Association organizing it.
This competition is designed to convey the value of traditional arts, specialize in traditional dance and traditional instrumental music on a national scale, and expand the base of traditional arts by discovering and nurturing talented newcomers nationwide, providing them with opportunities for artistic growth.
The competition consists of two categories: traditional dance and traditional instrumental music, with participant divisions including ▲Master Class ▲General Class ▲Middle and High School Class ▲Newcomer Class.
Especially from this year, a Newcomer Class has been newly established in the traditional dance category, allowing amateurs or enthusiasts interested in traditional dance to perform on stage and have their skills and level evaluated by experts.
Additionally, the Master Class ▲Grand Prize winner will receive the Presidential Award and a prize of 7 million KRW, the ▲Excellence Award winner will receive the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award and a prize of 3 million KRW, and other winners will also be awarded certificates and prize money.
In particular, the Grand Prize winner will be granted various special privileges such as being invited for performances and appointed as a judge for the “Busan Dongnae National Traditional Arts Competition.”
