Oh Se-hoon: "I Won't Intervene in Adult Festival if It's Held at a Private Venue"
"Not a Gender Issue but a Location Issue... Not Allowed in Public Places"
Event Organizer Expresses Intention to Reschedule June Performance
Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon recently expressed his opinion on the controversial adult festival, stating, "If it is held at a private performance venue, I have no intention to intervene."
On the evening of the 19th, around 10 PM, Mayor Oh posted a video on his YouTube channel 'Oh Se-hoon TV,' emphasizing, "This is not a matter of 'male performance' or 'female performance' and whether to allow it or not. It is a matter of location." He continued, "The problematic performance, which is mainly attended by men, is planned to be held at a floating restaurant on the Han River," explaining, "Although the Han River is a public space, the floating restaurant on it is also a space managed by the Seoul Metropolitan Government." He added, "The event was prohibited because it is undesirable for such performances or events of this nature to be held in spaces managed by the public."

He said, "Performances mainly attended by women take place in completely private spaces, that is, private venues," and added, "Since these are spaces owned by private entities, the Seoul Metropolitan Government has no grounds to intervene."
In conclusion, the Seoul Metropolitan Government's regulation of the adult festival was solely due to the location being the 'Han River Park floating venue,' not because of the nature of the performance. Mayor Oh stated, "It is completely illogical to compare and ask why men and women are treated differently." He also emphasized, "Going forward, Seoul will not intervene in whether such types of performances are held or not. However, when the location is a public space, Seoul must intervene within the scope defined by law."
Meanwhile, the organizers of the adult festival announced their intention to reschedule the event for June. The adult festival (2024 KXF The Fashion·KFX), featuring Japanese adult video (AV) actors, is hosted by 'Playjoker.' In response to a comment on their Instagram video announcing the cancellation, which said, "Is it just canceled and not postponed?" they replied, "It is postponed." They also told News1, "We will hold the event again in Seoul in June," adding, "We plan to rent a private facility and increase the scale to more than double the number of actors previously booked."

Originally, KFX was scheduled to be held on the 20th and 21st in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, but due to opposition from Suwon City, the venue was moved to the floating pub 'Ask Cruise' in Jamwon Hangang Park, Seoul. After Seoul sent a prohibition notice to Ask Cruise, the venue was changed again to a pub in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, but the event was temporarily canceled after the AV actors' agency raised safety concerns.
