Gyeonggi-do Baedal Teukgeup Surpasses 5,000 Uses of Child Meal Cards in March
In March alone, the use of child meal cards through Gyeonggi-do's Baedal Teukgeup delivery service surpassed 5,000 transactions, amounting to 110 million KRW.
Gyeonggi-do Corporation has introduced and is operating the "Child Meal Support Platform," a system that allows the use of the public delivery app "Baedal Teukgeup" with the existing child meal cards, which were previously only available for in-person payments.
Children eligible for meal support can use the platform to order meals contactlessly without worrying about stigma effects.
Orders can be placed using the child meal card up to a maximum of 20,000 KRW per day, and full delivery fee coupons are provided to reduce the burden on children.
Since May last year, the pilot project has been launched targeting children at risk of food insecurity in Yongin and Uiwang cities, and in the first half of this year, it will expand to 10 regions including Gwangmyeong, Guri, Dongducheon, Suwon, Anseong, Yeoju, Yongin, Uiwang, Paju, and Pyeongtaek.
