Gangdong-gu Mayor Lee Soo-hee Joins 'Save the Earth' Campaign
On Earth Day (April 22), Lee Soo-hee, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, joined the 'Bye-Bye Plastic' challenge to help save the planet.
This challenge, participated in by various organizations, is a nationwide campaign meaning 'saying goodbye to plastic.' Participants pledge on social media (SNS) to reduce unnecessary plastic use and encourage others, then nominate the next participant to continue the movement.
Mayor Lee Soo-hee joined the challenge upon the nomination of Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, and on the 19th introduced the eco-friendly policies promoted in Gangdong-gu via SNS, nominating Moon Heon-il, Mayor of Guro-gu, as the next challenger.
Mayor Lee said, “Small actions in daily life, when combined, will be a way to respond to the climate crisis and save the Earth. If all residents actively participate as agents of climate crisis response, I expect Gangdong-gu to play a pivotal role as a green city.”
