All Gyeonggi Provincial Government Employees to Take a 'One-Day Special Leave' in May
Gyeonggi Province, under the special directive of Governor Kim Dong-yeon, will implement a ‘one-day special leave’ for all provincial government employees throughout May, continuing from last year. This measure was carried out in celebration of Labor Day on May 1st.
Considering the nature of public service, such as civil complaint duties and ongoing projects, employees who find it difficult to take leave on May 1st are allowed to choose any day in May to use their special leave.
The special leave is based on the ‘Gyeonggi Province Public Officials Service Ordinance.’ According to this ordinance, the governor may grant up to three days of special leave to public officials who work during nights or holidays due to disasters or emergencies, or who are recognized for outstanding achievements or contributions in provincial administration or job performance.
