Busan Gijang-gun, New Middle-Aged Job Creation Project... Accelerating Customized Employment Creation
From April 15 to May 17, Recruiting 30 Applicants for Free 'Forklift Operator License Acquisition Course' Training
Busan Gijang-gun (Governor Jeong Jong-bok) will begin recruiting free trainees for the "Forklift Operator License Acquisition Course" for one month starting from the 15th to create jobs for the middle-aged population in the area.
This "Forklift Operator License Acquisition Course for forklifts under 5 tons" is a representative job creation support program tailored for the middle-aged, promoted by Gijang-gun targeting local residents aged 40 to 60.
Those who wish to obtain a forklift operator license must complete the education related to construction machinery operation as stipulated in Article 26, Paragraph 4 of the Construction Machinery Management Act. Reflecting the recent continuous increase in residents wanting to work as forklift operators, the county is conducting this training course again this year following last year.
In particular, when the education program was first operated last year, it received enthusiastic responses, including additional recruitment due to high interest from local residents and all participants completing the course.
This year’s recruitment period is from April 15 to May 17, lasting one month, and 30 residents aged 40 to 60 living in Gijang-gun will be recruited on a first-come, first-served basis. The recruitment will close early once the number of applicants is met. For more detailed information, please contact the County Job Economy Division (Job Planning Team).
The education consists of theoretical training on construction machinery engines, electrical systems, and work devices, as well as practical training covering overall forklift operation. The entire training fee is fully supported by Gijang-gun.

Governor Jeong Jong-bok stated, “Residents aged 40 and above make up 62% of the total population of Gijang-gun and play an important role in the county, but the reality is that there are insufficient jobs relative to the population.” He added, “We will actively support the successful reemployment of the middle-aged by promoting various employment support programs targeting this age group in the future.”
